The Home Team Innovation Festival (“InnoFest” 2012) is an annual event which celebrates and promotes innovation in the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) was held on ITE College West Campus on 2nd Nov 2012. InnoFest is an exhibition of innovative projects from Home Team (HT) agencies and educational institutions. The theme for this year’s InnoFest is ‘Synovation for a Safe and Secure Future!’. ‘Synovation’ is a combination of the words ‘Synergy’ and ‘Innovation’ promotes innovative solutions that contribute to the safety and security of Singapore. Students from well-known primary schools to tertiary institutions work and compete on innovation projects to address safety and security challenges. This event was also graced by Guest of Honour:, Mr S Iswaran ( Minister in Prime Minister’s Office, Second Minister for Home Affairs, Second Minister for Trade and Industry).
In the ITE/Polytechnic Category, our School of Engineering students from Diploma in Digital Entertainment Electronics emerged as 1st Runner-up (SILVER) with the project “On-Site Triage Network” and they walked away with $1000 cash prize and trophy. Among the 30 teams in this category, the team fought hard despite the heavy school load as well as the ever- intensified competitions from the other polytechnics.
