SEG DSCM Study Trip to Taiwan

24 SEG students (DSCM/DIOM/DAA) went for a Student Overseas Trip from South to North Taiwan from 19th Sep to 26th Sep 2012.

Company visits
During 7 days, we have visited various ports in Kaohsiung, Taichung and Taipei. Students have learnt how these ports play important roles as a transhipment shipping centres for the Asia Pacific region and global commercial logistics management.

 We also paid visits to the leading logistics companies, such as
-    Evergreen International Storage & Transport Corporation, which is specialized in cargo transportation, warehousing, oil distribution and passenger transportation business.
– The pioneer of container transportation in Taiwan.
“Wah, what a big vessel with so many containers!”

 -    Tonglit Logistics, which is specialized in providing One-Stop service for vehicle import and export.
“So many cars in the ports ~~ ”
                   
 -    CTW Logistics Corporation, a 3PL which provides integrated logistics services. We witnessed how the Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS) is working in the warehouse.

     “COOL~~ looks like Robot”

-    President Transnet Corporation (Subsidiary of Uni–President Group) –It has become known throughout in Taiwan by the brand name – Kuroneko Takkyubin, which providing door to door delivery island-wide and also to Singapore. We are touched by the company’s culture of caring everyone.

We had opportunity to visit National Kaohsiung Marine University – College of Management – Department of Logistics Management. Where the students made new friends and had a great time with the local students.
