SOT to Shanghai and Suzhou, China

In the first week of April 2012, a group of 22 RP students led by Dr Wang and Dr Lim from DMNT embarked on a learning journey to the industrial Shanghai and romantic Suzhou. It was an eye-opening experience for many students to witness China first hand in the areas of research and development, electronics manufacturing and rich Chinese cultural heritage.

All the RP students enjoyed this trip which was both educationally and culturally inspiring. It provided a good opportunity for them to understand more on the technical development of electronic companies in China.  Some students remarked that China is much more developed than what they expected before the trip.

The following are some of the highlights:

SOT Highlights
1. Universities, Research and development: Suzhou University student exchanges, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Haizisi Nano Technology in Suzhou Nano-Technology Park

RP students were greeted with a heart-warming welcome by students from Suzhou University. The Chinese students introduced their university program, shared their talents in solo singing performances, Chinese calligraphy and martial arts. RP students responded with high energy hip-hop dances. Friendship flourished as gifts and email addresses were exchanged among students.  The event ended with a special calligraphy gift by student from Suzhou University to RP and RP staff reciprocated with a RP souvenir.
