After a few months of preparation, 2 SEG ISLP teams, each consists of 25 students and 2 staff leaders (ISLP Solar Power led by Eugene & Chee Fui and ISLP Sun & Joy led by Shyuan Jing and Wai Yin) departed for Siem Reap, Cambodia on 13th March 2012. After 15 days in Siem Reap, Cambodia, both teams have achieved their mission and returned to Singapore safely on 27th March 2012.

While in Siem Reap, the team from ISLP Solar Power has completed the installation of solar panels and lighting system for one classroom in Trapeang Po Primary School in Ballangk commune, Siem Reap. The purpose is to enable the school to conduct evening and night English enrichment classes for adults or children in Ballangk commune. In addition, the team had also conducted some workshops such as Engineering, Science, English, Math, Sports, Hygiene, etc for the primary school kids in Trapeang Po Primary School in Ballangk commune, Siem Reap.

From this year, OSG have tried to align the ISLP projects to tap on YEP funding. As part of YEP’s requirements, all overseas project need to have a pre and post trip local component aligned to the objectives of the main project. The team has completed the pre-trip and the overseas project. The team would be serving their post trip local component on 13th April 2012.
